Welcome to the new Blogger . . .
at least most everything transferred over without any issues. I can see I need to do a little tweaking on the right, but other than that, I'm happy it's done.
This will be brief this morning because I have a bit of a headache, but Sue wanted to see the flowerpots I've been working on, so here they are:
I think they turned out pretty darned cute, if I do say so myself. I have a couple more to do, maybe this afternoon if I get around to it.
If you remember the "big opportunity" that I spoke about earlier--I had to turn it down. I've been bummed ever since. It's depressing knowing that you're making good money and still can't afford the simplest things. Oh, well . . . .
My attention lately has been turned to the influx of gardening catalogs that have been filling up my mailbox. I think this is a good thing, because I have to admit that I'm tired of winter. I've been thinking about what I want in my "garden" this summer, and I've ordered more tomato seeds, some lettuce blends, and some flowers that I want to try. Did you know that there are "dwarf" varieties of sunflowers now? I've ordered a couple of different varieties to try this year. The birds will like that, for sure--they've been gobbling down the birdseed as fast as I can put it out. I do know that if this summer is as hot as it was last year, I won't be doing as much as before. The plants just can't take the heat and the high UV.
However, in my attempt to "save money" (code for "spend a lot to save a little"), I've invested in a small growlight. My friends at work now think I'm growing something other than tomato plants! (Hee!) That was my biggest problem last year--not having enough light close enough to grow strong seedings that weren't spindly. The light I bought is just big enough for one flat of seedings, and I think I'm going to fill it up, and whatever I don't use I can give away to a couple of friends at work who also like to garden. Once the seedlings are done, I hope to use it for my orchids and african violets.
It's rather dark and dreary today, and I'm really happy about that. I've been up long enough to get my laundry done, and as soon as I can get it put away, I'm going to sit down and spin for a while. It's been too long, and I miss it. I just can't seem to get the energy to sit down and do it.
I missed Saturday Sky again yesterday, and I don't have a photo, but I do have this:
Maggie enjoying her "Saturday Sky."

Those pots are WAY cute!
oh you did a great job! What kind of paint did you use? And do you have to seal the inside of the pots to keep the moisture from ruining the paint job?
I just bought my first orchid the other day at Walmart. Say a prayer for it. At least so far no cat has decided to nibble on it *G*
Those pots are way cute!
